“Peepli Live” Nominated For Ocsar 2011 Award

Peepli Live Nominated For OscarBollywood film “Pipli Live”, produced by Aamir Khan is officially selected for Oscars 2011 awards in the category of Best Foreign Language Film. This Hindi movie is praised by all the audiences, whether the viewer is common man or any bollywood celebrity. The movie focuses the issue of suicides by poor farmers in India. This movie is about a poor farmer who decides to commit suicide so that his family can benefit from government compensation.

It is a good time going with Actor Aamir Khan. On one side, his superhit film 3 Idiots bagged so many awards that it created a history in the bollywood and now another film produced by him is being nominated for Oscar award 2011.In the words of secretary general of the Film Federation of India, Supran Sen, India’s official entry ‘Peepli Live’ is being selected for the Oscars. There are total of 27 movies that are selected and ‘Peepli Live’ is one of them.

This is the fourth time that Aamir’s movie is nominated for the award. Earlier in 2011, his Hindi movie Lagaan, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and produced by him was nominated in the five categories but unfortunately failed to bag the Academy Award. Same thing happened with Rakesh Omprakash Mehra directed film ‘Rang De Basanti’ in 2006 and his another mega hit movie “Taare Zameen Par” which was produced and directed by him was unable to bag the award.

“Peepli live” is a debut film of Anusha Rizvi as a director and is selected in Chennai on Friday by Film Federation of India (FFI).
