Sachin Tendulkar 51st Test Century

Sachin Tendulkar 51It is a great gift from Sachin Tendulkar to all Indians in the form of his 51st test century in Newlands cricket stadium of Cape Town. Third test match between South Africa and India is going on in South Africa. It is also the first match of the New Year 2011.

Indian batsmen were in full form. On the other side, South Africa scored a total of 362 on 10 wickets in 1st inning. African batsman Jacques Kallis made a wonderful century with total of 161 runs to lead the African team to 362.

After African, now it was turn of Indians to show their batting power. After the half century of Gautam Gambhir (93 runs from 222 balls with the help of 13 fours), the star batsman Sachin Tendulkar again hit a century. This is second century in this series by him and a first century for this year. Overall, it was his 51st test century of his career.

Before lunch, Sachin was standing on 94 runs and needed just six runs to complete his 51st century. After lunch, when one of the ball of Morne Morkel went to Sachin’s bat, the batsman threw the ball outside the boundary as a huge six to achieve the new milestone of 51st century. He faced 314 balls to score 146 runs with the help of 17 fours and 2 big sixes.

But the Indian opener Gambhir was unlucky and got out on 93 runs. He only needed 7 runs to complete his 10th test century.

Has anyone noticed one fact about this century? I don’t know whether you noticed or not. Ok I am going to tell you the fact. In the year 2010, while playing first test match of the year, Sachin made a century in that match and now in this year also, while playing first test match of the year, he hit a century again.
