Sehwag played India’s fastest century in ODI

India had to wait 20 overs in order to grab their first wicket. Till then, New Zealand had crossed 100. For opening Stand, Brendon McCullum (77) and Jesse Ryder (46) played for a partnership of 102 runs while Peter McGlashan (56) and Grant Elliot (35) partnership added 95 runs in the last 10 overs.

India won the match by Duckworth-Lewis method, with its openers, Virender Sehwag (125*) and Gautam Gambhir (63*), with all 10 wickets in hand. With this, India won the series with 3-0, with 1 match still remaining in hand. In the past 33 years, this is the first ever victory for India in ODI series in New Zealand.

Sehwag played Holi today in New Zealand with his electrifying strokes. He crossed 100, i.e. 103, in just 60 balls, breaking Mohammad Azharuddin 20-year old century record in 62 balls (1988-89), which was also against New Zealand. With this, Sehwag became India’s fastest century player in ODI.

Today rain, weather everyone was with India. Sehwag gave a great gift to Indians on this holy ‘Holi’ occasion.
