Royal Wedding – Prince William married Kate Middletown

After around 10 years of long romance, Prince William married her girl-friend Kate Middletown on April 29, 2011 and now Prince takes her wife to the Royal Hierarchy. Kate stepped into the palace and greets many senior members of the family.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge exchanged rings and married at Westminster Abbey, London, United Kingdom.

Kate was a common girl by birth but on April 29, she became Royal Highness Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. This title is said to be a courtesy rather than right. But one of the William’s spokesperson said that the prince prefers for himself to remain Prince and for her wife as Princess Catherine.

As per one of Royal family member, ‘William is very lucky because he gets what he desires. He wanted Middletown and was successful marrying her’.

People are encouraged to call the names Prince William and Princess Catherine as suggested by Paddy Harverson, Prince of Wales Communications Secretary. He said that the people should call the newly wed couple by these names and no one should boycott this.

There were fears that Kate will offend Prince Charles second wife and which was the main reason to not make Kate Princess.
Royal Marriage of Prince William & Kate

Prince Charles when remarried in 2005, Carnilla, his second wife, got the title as ‘Duchess of Cornwall’. Public was not in support for Carnilla for being called as Queen Carnilla. Even Charles said for the first time on an US Television show about the possibility of his wife as queen and that too he said ‘She Could be..’. And when asked that if ever she would be Queen Consort, he added “We’ll see won’t we? That could be.”

But afterwards a statement was issued by Clarence House indicating that nothing has changed and the Duchess would become Princess Consort.

This time also, the Queen knew that the royal family members would not respect the decision of Miss Kate Middletown becoming as ‘Princess Catherine’.

It is also to be noted here that Princess Catherine still has to acknowledge and respect Duchess of Cornwall. Also, the court rules also allow her to bow her head while greeting senior royal members of the family. The rules also state to respect Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, the Duke of York’s daughters.

Some modifications can be done to such rules by the Queen to make the position of the Duchess of Cambridge equal to the court and to her.

The new orders were also issued by Queen when Prince of Wales made Carnilla Parker Bowles his wife. The new orders cleared the importance of ‘blood principles’.
