There’s good news for India and all Indians. It can be shocking news for all of us but yes it is true. According to the official United States report on global governance, India is being declared as the 3rd most powerful nation in the world. America has recognized India’s developing power in the world and has stated this in its report.

According to the report, the world’s most powerful country in 2010 is United States, which is accounting for nearly 22 per cent of the global power. The United States (US) is then followed by second most powerful nation China (more than 12 per cent) and then comes India (nearly eight per cent). Other powerful nations, according to the report, are Japan, Russia and Brazil with less than five per cent each.

Office of the Director of US National Intelligence Council (NIC) and the European Union’s Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) jointly issued this report (Global Governance 2025).

It is also predicted by the report that by 2025, the power of USA, Japan and Russia would decline and that of China and Brazil would increase. The Global power of States would decline from 22 percent to 18 percent and that of China would rise up from 12 percent to 16 percent. India’s share of global power would rise or it might remain on the third or fourth position.

The news is really strange because in the list, the countries that are being highlighted are all developed nations but only India is a developing nation. A developing country like India, if termed as to become a Global power then obviously there would be questions all around on this.

But whatever it may be, it is news that makes every Indian proud.
