Today on 15 September 2010, the Indian government announced the 57th National Film Award of 2009 at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. National Film Awards are considered the most prestigious and best film awards in India as these awards are given by Indian Government.

In the award ceremony, the Malayalam film Kutty Srank, which is directed by Shaji N. Karun and produced by Reliance Big Pictures has been declared as the Best Feature Film of 2009. The all time famous bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan won the National Award for the Best Actor for his impressive role in the film “Paa”. This is also the third time in his bollywood career that he is awarded with the Best Actor award. Earlier he was honored two times with the National Award for Best Actor for the film Agneepath and Black.

Best Film Awards goes to Aamir Khan’s all time superhit film 3 Idiots. Best Actress award is won by Bengali actress Ananya Chaterjee for ‘Abohoman’. Delhi-6 won the Nargis Dutt award for the best film with a social message.
