The countdown for common wealth games has begun and now there are 82 days remaining in the start of games. Since now only few days are remaining, Delhi Govt want to complete the project regarding these games as soon as possible. The government has already finalized the deadline date to complete the project and that is between 31st July to 31st August. In fact now, the government is trying to take the information for this project from different departments that are responsible for the project.

To make the games popular, a brand ambassador would be appointed and it would be done before 25th July. However, the organizing committee yet hasn’t given any signal regarding who will be the ambassador for the games but most probably, he or she would be any sports personality.

The names of Boxer Vijender Singh, Athlete Milkha Singh and P.T. Usha are on the top of the nomination list to become the brand ambassador for Common Wealth Games 2010. According to the sources, the final name would be finalized after the official meeting and till then, every name is just a guess and nothing else.

Even every one in the organizing committee wants that ambassador of common wealth games must relate to any sport. By this, the sports would be motivated among the peoples.

Near about 4 months before, President of Archery Association of India and BJP Minister V.K. Malhotra had suggested the name of Superstar Amitabh Bachchan as a Brand Ambassador. According to him, Bachchan was the Brand Ambassador for Asian Games in 1982 and so he will be perfect for 2010 Common Wealth Games also. Also, Big B is very famous and loveable by all Indian youth.

But Suresh Kalmadi, chairman of organizing committee neglected Big B’s name saying that any young sports icon should be for this title.

Lalit Bhanot, General Secretary of Organizing Committee, said that they are making the list and will declare the name in the last of this week or in the next upcoming week that who will be the Brand Ambassador of the Common Wealth Games 2010.
