Yesterday at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai playing against Mumbai Indians, the Rajasthan Royals batsman Yousuf Pathan created a new history by playing his innings of 100 runs. He completed the fastest hundred of IPL T20 in just 37 balls which included 8 huge sixes and 9 fours with a superb strike rate of 270.27.
Inspite of the best efforts by the batsman, his century failed to snatch victory for his team. Yousuf’s century was not able to safe his team from defeat and they lost this match by just 4 runs.
But the innings created a history and would be remembered by all. His superb performance for scoring the fastest century in the history of IPL (Indian Premier League) is really appreciable. It was his bad luck that he got run out just after completing his hundred.
Mumbai Indians placed a tough target of 212 for Rajasthan Royals and there were complete chances that RR would win due to the performance that Yousuf was giving but after he lost his wicket, the other players were not able to play well. Whole RR team lost their wickets at 208 and thus lost the match from MI by just 4 runs.
It was obvious that had Pathan survived his wicket on the field for some more time, RR would have won the match.
