Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal made a hat-trick on Sunday by winning the third Super Series title. She won this title by beating 19 year old Sayaka Sato of Japan in Indonesia Open Super Series.
20 years old Saina is on third position according to world’s ranking. This is her third successive title in the last two weeks as Saina has also won the Indian Open Grand Prix and Singapore Open Super Series Tournament last week.
In this 45 minute match, the 19 year old Sayaka Sato who is on 26th number in the world ranking, played solid shots in the opening game but lost the game by her own mistakes. Saina defeated Sayaka Sato in the final by 21-19, 13-21 and 21-11.
Saina Nehwal, after winning the title said that she doesn’t care about the ranking while playing. She further added that even after the game, she never cares for any award and ranking criteria. Her main aim that she keeps during playing is to win and defeat the other player and she tries for that. She said that now-a-days, she is more concerned about the Common Wealth and Asian games that are going to happen in the coming time. But she also added that she becomes very happy when she wins any game and her ranking improves.
She said that playing for the country and to get name and fame for her motherland is more important to her than to be on any other ladder.
With this award, Saina is expected to climb to number 2 in the world ranking. At present, Wang Yihan ofChinais number one Badminton player in the world. Saina will get 18,750 dollars (near about 8 lacks 63 thousand Indian rupees) for this victory.
When asked about such big amount of money that she is earning at this small age, she added that money doesn’t keep so much importance in her life. What the main aim is that her country’s name is shining due to her. She said that she plays only for the nation and not for any money or fame. If someone is to be admired then that’s the country and the soil on which she is born and grown.
