Microsoft Corporation India Private Limited has released its Internet Explorer 9 in 11 Indian Regional languages. Along with this, it has announced that the IE9 would be available in 53 additional languages along with English. This count of 53 includes 11 Indian languages too.
Microsoft also did a partnership with the 29 popular websites of India to promote Internet Explorer version 9. This version 9 already crossed 2.35 million downloads in just 24 hours of its launch.
IE9 was already available in Hindi and now it’s been added further in 11 more regional languages of India.
The company is in India since 1990 and has offices in 13 cities of India that includes Bangalore, Chennai, New Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Pune, Coimbatore, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Indore, Mumbai, Kochi and Hyderabad.
Indian Languages in which Internet Explorer IE9 is Available
The browser’s 9th version runs on Windows Vista / Server 2008 / 7. You can install it on any bit OS, whether it may be 32 bit or 64 bit of these win versions.
Previously, the company also announced some of its technologies in regional languages of India. Some of the technologies included Indic Language Input tool, a phonetic based keyboard, Language Interface Pack, Captions Language Interface Pack, a tool that uses a tool tip caption for displaying the local language translations for the user interface items in Visual Studio 2010 and 2008, Windows Live Applications including Instant Messaging, email and personal home page.
It is targeting first users in Hindi, Oriya, Tamil and Malayalam.
The company wants to target the local users by offering the content and services in the local languages so that more and more people, who are not so good in English, can switch to its applications and services. The attempt is good also in the sense that it will increase the number of internet and computer users too.
